All of these benefits are invaluable. Accepting the gift of salvation is and always will be the best decision one can make in this lifetime. Other gifts lead to temporary gains, when you accept Jesus you gain forever.
What am I being saved from?
Good question, makes sense to know. Today you're being offered a free gift of salvation, but what exactly are you being saved from?
- Saved from forfeiting eternal life which is available to you.
- Saved from the second death; eternal separation from God. (The second death is reserved for those who chose not to receive and or maintain their salvation/soul insurance).
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14-15 KJV
- Saved from deception/living blindly. With the gift of salvation, you will learn and know the truth- the Holy Spirit will be your guide.
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth" John 16:13 KJV
- Saved from the devil who is your adversary and the adversary of humankind.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” 1 Peter 5:8 KJV
Misery loves company; the devil is miserable and he wants your company. With the gift of salvation you have power through Jesus Christ over your enemy! Salvation through Christ saves you from the devil and his inheritance– which is an eternity of no hope in tormented sorrow.
The devil does not want you to be saved and he hates YOU because YOU STILL HAVE A CHANCE to obtain immortality in good standing with God, YOUR Creator.
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.” Luke 8:11-12 KJV
The devil wants you to be blinded and believe lies to your detriment. It's his goal for you to confuse good for evil and evil for good. It's his goal for you to believe lies that pull you further and further away from the truth, who is Jesus. Lies that place you in a spiritual and mental trap that he hopes you never escape from. Deception that ultimately leads to eternal death where no more chances are given.
“He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:44 KJV
Salvation makes it possible for you to know Truth and overcome this evil plan that the enemy has for your life.
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 KJV
- Saved from the lake of fire.
“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Revelation 20:10 KJV
Please, please don’t be one of “them” that the above scripture is referring to…
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” Matthew 25:41 KJV
- Saved from a life of bondage to sin.
“For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.” Romans 6:20-21 KJV
The above bullet points are very serious reasons to consider.
One thing about God is that He is not forceful; He’s not forcing any human being, anywhere, to listen to Him or take the gift that He's freely giving. The truth, however, is that God is the truth and He tells the truth. If you choose not to believe Him or listen to Him, you are choosing to believe and listen to a spirit that is not the truth.
