Choices

To choose is to make a selection.

Think of others that have lost the right to choose and be glad that you are not one of them.  To accept the gift of salvation from God is to make the best choice; to choose eternal life.

“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life”                    Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV

Here are a few choices you have to make..

  • Believe the truth or believe a lie.
  • Obey God’s Word or disobey God’s Word.
  • Die once or die twice (experiencing the second death which is eternal).
  • Accept Jesus, the sacrifice made on your behalf or reject Jesus and His sacrifice made on your behalf.
  • Lose your life for the sake of Jesus (live uprightly and be unspotted from a worldly lifestyle) or save your life (live however you please indulging in worldly things) and lose Jesus, your Savior.

Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?                       Mark 8:34-37 KJV

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.     Matthew 7:13-14KJV

Consider the following two scriptures where Jesus makes it clear who he is, which then gives you a choice to make:

“ I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”                         John 14:6 KJV

In this scripture, Jesus tells us that he is the way and no one is going unto the Father any other way than through him.  Notice also that Jesus says he is the truth and this is important to not skip over.

One choice here is will you choose the way, which is Jesus or try to get to God the Father another way?  Another is will you choose to believe that he is the truth like he said and settle the matter or question his credibility and continue searching for the truth?

“ I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?”     John 11:25 KJV

In this scripture, again Jesus is telling you that he is the life and also the resurrection responsible for ensuring YOU are resurrected after your time expires in your present body, unto eternal life if you live and believe in Jesus while on the earth.  The choice to be made again is will you choose to believe him?

Jesus has made it clear who he is.

God's resurrecting power unto eternal life is the essence of soul insurance.

Strongly consider that in the same way no one can eat or drink for you or wake up for you– no matter how much someone may love you, it is in the same manner that no one can make these choices for you.

Ultimately, it is you that has to make the choice to enter into Jesus, who is the door to your salvation.

A lot of times, we wonder why life seems so unfair, why bad things happen etc.  The answer to that is historical and is found in the beginning, when our ancestors Adam & Eve made the wrong choice of disobeying God, which brought pain, the struggle and death upon the human race.

As much as their choice has affected all of us, God has provided us with his Son, Jesus, to pay the price for their costly error and give us a chance to live life in its perfect design one day.

You see, in this life, we can blame Adam and Eve for the consequences we inherited because of them doing what was forbidden.  But, once we have heard of the good news of salvation, in the next life, if we have chosen not to follow Jesus, we are left without excuse and no one to blame but ourselves.

" And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”               Revelation 22:14-15 KJV

Remember Jesus kindly lets us know he is the truth, his truth foretells the benefits and consequences of our choices.

Choose wisely.
